The deck, explained

Tarot card meanings, without the mystique tax.

All 78 cards, each with what it says upright, what it says reversed and the questions worth asking when it appears in your reading. Use the filters to move through the Major Arcana or a single suit.

How to read a card meaning properly

A card does not carry one fixed message. It carries a field of meaning that narrows when you place it next to your question, and next to the other cards in the spread.

Use these pages as a starting point, then pay attention to what you notice first: the image, the figure, the direction they face. That reaction is usually the part of the reading that matters.

I read the spread, not the dictionary

In a reading I look at how the cards speak to each other and to your question. A reversed card is not bad news by default, and a “positive” card can name something you are avoiding.

If you would rather hear it read for you, that is what a session is for.
